SUSTAINABILITY: A MULTIFACETED ISSUE

For its 24th edition (July 5–13, 2024), the NIFFF forges ahead with the strategy started in 2021 to reduce its environmental footprint. The festival is also expanding its scope by letting the audience discover various ways environmentalism is portrayed in its program.

This sustainability plan is supported by BCN (Banque Cantonale Neuchâteloise) and Viteos, the Neuchâtel leader in energy transition.

These two long-time partners of the festival are joined every year by others for specific initiatives.

IN 2025, FOR FESTIVALGOERS…

What’s new this year?

  • TAKE CARE ! a selection of twenty films that explore the theme of deep inequalities in healthcare systems. The film A CURE FOR WELLNESS (Gore Verbinski, 2016) will be presented in collaboration with Médecins du monde. A representative from Médecins du monde will join the other speakers during the TAKE CARE! roundtable discussion. This initiative aims to open up debate on a societal issue that has been widely explored in genre cinema, while questioning healthcare systems and the pressures surrounding self-care.
  • Stand Having a Ball : On Sat. July 11th, the Joseph Barnes Association for Testicular Cancer Prevention will be present with a booth at OFFF, in the Jardin Anglais, to raise public awareness about this often-taboo topic.
  • Un amour de pleurote :
As part of its local and circular approach, the NIFFF is joining forces with Un amour de pleurote, a mushroom farm that highlights food biodiversity in the Neuchâtel region. Products available at the festival shop and served at personalized events.

Et les mesures renouvelées :
