After the death of his wife, Mit moves with his daughter to an abandoned manor in a Muslim neighborhood in the Bangkok suburbs. The young widower, who is a staunch non-believer, immediately gets rid of all religious items. Little does he know his actions just woke up an evil djinn… With The Cursed Land, Rithdee and Aree take inspiration from Islamic folklore to re-energize the codes of Thai horror cinema and make a political stand about the ethnoreligious conflicts that have plagued the country.
