To celebrate their wedding anniversary, and at the same time, tighten the familial strings that are all too loose, the whole Carter family gets in the car. Destination: California. The atmosphere is wanting, and a number of family members would definitely rather be somewhere else... and all of this before a deserted road in New Mexico leads them to their worst nightmares. The Hills Have Eyes revisits Wes Cravens classic, made in 1977. This story of a family of mutants that massacre travellers lost in the desert quickly gained its sulphurous reputation, like that of Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Last House on the Left, to be among the most terrifying and disturbing films. Wagering on this version, the director Alexandre Aja and Wes Craven, as producer, will not fail to honour this reputation. The Hills Have Eyes is a promising work whose content will promptly agitate the scareometer even for lovers of intense feelings.
