Born in 1933 in St Paul, Minnesota, Syd Mead trained as an industrial designer before working as a conceptual designer on major productions such as Blade Runner, TRON, and Aliens. Following the symposium, a documentary by Joaquin Montalvan retraces the career of this inspired artist.
