A serial killer is on the prowl. His last target: the inspector Tai, whose body was generously pierced with a drill before being thrown off a balcony. His colleague Ling was mysteriously spared and escaped with a mere bump on the head. But once reunited with his wife and his sweet little boy, Ling realizes that he’s lost his memory. His drill also seems to have run off. And the more he investigates, the more the evidence mounts…against him. This first opus by Roy Chow is a hybrid work with stylish twists the way that Hong Kong cinema loved it in the 80’s. From a gory first scene, we slide smoothly into a paranoid thriller which prepares the way for the diabolical and shocking final outcome. Beware, as appearances can be deceiving...
