After a failed robbery, Kylie Bucknell gets the worst punishment New Zealand law can give: having to move back in with her mother. The latter is convinced that the house is haunted, but Kylie believes she is making it up to distract herself from her busy life spent cooking steamed vegetables and gossiping. However, when she hears disquieting whispers in the night and strange events begin happening, she starts to secondguess herself. The critics have already applauded this brilliant horror-comedy, Gerard Johnstone first feature. Tackling the "there is something very funny about people wanting to settle an invasion of ghosts as if repairing a washing machine" principle, the director borrows both from New Zealand horror films (Braindead, Black Sheep) and family comedies in order to deliver a funny, inventive, movie.
