Ambrose McKinley, a Vietnam War vet who has lost his sight, is forced to move into a nursing home with only the company of his seeing-eye dog. However, contrary to his son’s hopes, it turns out that this is not the best place for him to quietly spend his golden years, as the community is targeted by a series of deadly attacks. Ambrose takes things in hand and soon becomes convinced that they are dealing with werewolves. Beware of the next full moon! Where Bubba Ho-Tep gave us a mummy attacking a nursing home, the wonderfully eclectic Adrián García Bogliano puts werewolves center-stage in this masterful film. Using makeup and prosthetics, the lycanthropes delightfully recall the aesthetic of 80s, including a particularly effective transformation scene. Survivalist horror in a retirement home that reminds us that we shouldn’t just abandon our senior citizens there to die !
