Sensory and visual film Under the Skin brings us a mysterious alien (Scarlett Johansson) who stalks lonely hitchhikers in a van. Against the backdrop of Northern Scotland, Jonathan Glazer (Birth, Sexy Beast, as well as many music-videos for the likes of Radiohead amongst others) tells an enchanting fable about the emotional appeal of humanity. Quite simply one of the best science fiction films made in the last decade.
