New York in the very near future: quantum computing is all the rage. To support his young brother suffering from a mysterious illness, Ray takes on a strange job that could pay extremely well. He is tasked with running cables for miles on end between magnetic cubes all through the forest. But quickly, he realises that something doesn’t seem right. A cynical critique of the absurdities of a world where productivity is king, Lapsis can be seen as an anti-Amazon satire against consumerism and its social consequences. Ray’s story becomes a revolutionary journey with a bitter-sweet after taste that hits close to home.
