Ennennum is Shalini Ushadevi’s second feature film, and her second film to be part of the international competition at NIFFF! Akam (2012) was a small-budget, disturbing psychological thriller in which a young architect starts to wonder if his wife is really human. Since then, she has won an award for best screenplay in India after co-writing Soorarai Pottru (2020). Twelve years later, the director, writer, and producer of Ennennum is back to offer a fresh take on love and human relations through the lens of genre cinema.
