Film

Bogota, 1996. Part of the population is feeling anxious about the upcoming lunar eclipse, said to coincide with the arrival of the devil on Earth. 13-year-old Mila is wondering if the changes she is going through could have something to do with it. Could she have a connection with Satan himself? Camila Beltrán toys with the supernatural and leverages the possibilities of local folklore to deliver a rebellious coming-of-age that offers a smart take on the teenage condition and systemic violence.

Born in Bogota in 1984, Camila Beltrán first studied the arts at the ENSAPC (École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy), then became a videographer before taking up a career as a director. Her short films were met with success on the festival circuit: Pedro Malheur (2013) got an honorable mention from the Clermont-Ferrand jury, and Pacífico oscuro (2020) was part of the Locarno international competition. Mi Bestia, her first feature film, was selected as part of the alternative ACID Cannes program in 2024.
