Skalde (Rosa Wirtz, then Mathilde Bundschuh) lives far from civilization, in a woodland community that old myths have rendered paranoid. One day, she takes in a child she finds wandering in the forest. The already suspicious villagers agree that the girl can stay on one condition: she must lose her milk teeth, thus proving she is not a wolf… With her feature debut, Swiss filmmaker Sophia Bösch delivers a strange and gripping fable about social isolation and the desire to belong.
