The diverse, engaged, and sometimes subversive literature of Jean-Baptiste del Amo – who has won many awards, including the Prix Goncourt for a first novel for Une Éducation Libertine (2009) – has often toyed with genre tropes. His latest novel, La Nuit ravagée (2025), is a coming-of-age story that pays homage to the horror genre from Stephen King to John Carpenter. It has garnered rave reviews from critics and readers alike.
