NIFFF ON TOUR: OUR FALL SEASON EVENTS

The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) reveals the first screenings of its NIFFF ON TOUR programme, which is all about promoting genre films all year long! From Lausanne to Zurich, Winterthur and Locarno, these events will give your autumn a strong oneiric flavour.

In addition to its new exhibition Cosmos Archaeology: Explorations in Time and Space, the l’EPFL Pavilions has asked the NIFFF to prepare two open air free screenings.

A coming-of-age tale with the CERN particle accelerator as a backdrop, LES PARTICULES is French-Swiss filmmaker Blaise Harrison’s first feature film, a spellbinding work where metamorphosis and the uncanny find profound meaning.

PAUL HIRSCH, BRIAN DE PALMA’S EDITOR, AT THE NATIONAL FILM ARCHIVE

As part of a big retrospective of Brian de Palma’s work, the National Film Archive will welcome Paul Hirsch, the filmmaker’s official editor since his beginnings, who has also worked on other iconic films. In addition, the NIFFF will present screenings for STAR WARS: EPISODE IV, A NEW HOPE  (6pm – synopsis) and CARRIE (9pm – synopsis) on Sunday, October 2nd.

50 YEARS OF WOMEN-DIRECTED HORROR FILMS AT THE ZURICH FILMPODIUM

The Filmpodium Zürich presents A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT: WOMEN MAKE HORROR!, an anthology of about 20 horror films directed by women. The NIFFF will be presenting the screening Claire Denis’ TROUBLE EVERY DAY, on Wednesday, October 12th. A bloody, erotic film that didn’t find its audience back then but should absolutely be discovered today.

FANTOCHE’S 20TH EDITION: THE NIFFF HANDS OUT THE FANTASTIC SWISS AWARD TO BODDYSSEY FROM JONAS BIENZ

The Baden International Animated Film Festival (Fantoche) just concluded its 20th edition beautifully. Every year, the NIFFF is honoured to award the Fantastic Swiss prize to the best genre film from the Swiss short films competition. This year, is was given to BODDYSSEY from Jonas Bienz. You will be able to watch it again during next year’s NIFFF (30 June – 8 July 2023).
